Five Parsecs Kingons on the Starboard Bow.
We received orders from Starfleet to support the defence and hold off the Klingons. The Peregrine had been forced out of orbit by the Klingon ships and was now lurking in the outer system. We didn't have a way off planet so being assigned to planetary defence was about as good as it was going to get.
The teams initiative roll. most of the team get to act in the fast phase.
Here is the federation team after moving up twice. Dodson stuns a Klingon while Peck and Chung miss.Dodson takes down a Klingon, earning him the bonus XP for first kill
The Klingon return fire is marginally effective stunning Romjin.
Romjin kills a Klingon specialist with her plasma rifle. Dodson is hit and wounded by a Klingon and is saved by a stim pack which reduces the near fatal wound to a stun. Quin stuns a Klingon.
The hyper aggressing Klingons are determined to make it into melee and introduce the Federation team to their Batleths. Dodson misses the Klingon taking cover behind the buttress. Captain Mount takes out a Klingon after Quinn had stunned.
The Klingons make it into Close combat. This is when I find out that Klingons roll two dice in close combat, eek.Dodson is quickly taken out by the Klingon, so stim pack will save him from a blow to the head
Fu fights the Klingon leader and even though he loses he gets a 6 which is an automatic hit. The two warriors take each other out at the same time.
Captain Mount dashes over and takes out the last Klingon with a hand cannon blast into the center of mass, the +2 to wound is very useful, its taking Klingons out on a 2+

Dodson suffers equipment loss and his battle visor is damaged, this must have taken the brunt of the impact, saving his skull.
Fu rolls 100 and gets an extra XP so learning from his experience.
We don't get any loot, but we do find a personal trinket from holding the field. Probably some identity tags for a fallen federation trooper.
