Five Parsecs - Blood Moon Rising
Captain Mount got a further update on the Peddington incident from Admiral Everett.
That data pad that Ensign Godding recovered provided useful information about what Peddinton was up to. I'm transmitting your new orders to your ship computer now. This one should be less morally ambiguous.
Commander Romjin goes on training and the bonus XP allows her to upgrade her toughness.3 of the crew go trading and acquire:
A Stim Pak
3 Grenades
Trade goods
Two crew go exploring and find
A package to be delivered
A package to be delivered
A new crew member Lieutenant Chung
She is a former soldier from an independent colony that was subjugated by Aliens, so she is tough and heavily armed.
Here is Baben and his crew advancing to the rendezvous. The federation team need to secure the center of the board for two rounds. To quote Raskin the Reptile "I think I'm just going to kill them all and win that way"
The Federation team are spread out along the opposite side of the board. The Dice are indicating the position of the Curious Item. The Federation fail to seize the initiative.
The Captain and Dodson dash out of sight around the corner of the building.
A Blood Moon trooper shoots at Chong but misses. Chong returns fire and takes out the trooper. Romjin is racing towards the high ground. Quin and Gooding are fanning out to the right and looking to flank the enemy and recover the latest curious item.
Peck and Romjin are going in the fast phase, everyone else is waiting to see what happens with Baben and his team.
Romjin move forwards and blasts the specialist with her Plasma rifle. This took out the flamer weapon.
Baben and his remaining guard miss Romjin. Dodson moves over and takes out Baben.
Commander Romjin gets the drop on the last mercenary
Gooding recovers the Curious Item.
After the battle we get to the important part - looting.
We recover:
2 doses of combat serum
We also find a personal trinket.
The Blood Moon mercenaries become rivals. However, this is rather overshadowed by what happens next. The Federation issues a travel alert forbidding travel from this world for two turns. The 3 Klingon D7 battle cruisers arrive into orbit and begin landing troops. The world of Pengetera has been invaded.
Normally when a world is invaded you have to flee but the campaign event states you can't leave. So I decided that with the Klingons controlling orbital space we have to stay and fight two battles before our ship can come back and beam us off the planet.
What a cliff hanger at the end of episode 2.
