Frostgrave - a light refreshing beverage at the elven shrine

All five of us made it to the Warlords to play Frostgrave on Saturday. Richard and James played a scenario based on the Wildlands book.

George Alan and I played a scenario which combines the Well of Dreams and Sorrows and Genie in the bottle from the main rule book.

In this scenario the well was an ancient elven shrine. I scratch built this some years ago. The dome is a cullender which I then plastered into a dome using a template to make it circular. This makes it quite heavy.

To add more spice to the scenario, one of the treasures was actually the bound prison of a daemon.

Vandred led his warband towards the fountain. My strategy is to have Vandred lead the assault team of buffed up chaos warriors while the apprentice Magaera leads the missile group to provide fire support. Both my Archers have magic weapons.

Here are George's suitably treacherous Skaven. George had a couple of his constructs up on blocks back at his workshop so he had a horde of skaven thugs to run out and be expendable.
Here are a group of Beastmen, they are on a mission to defile the shrine. Once defiled you no longer gain experience from drinking from the well. No one wants to drink water that a beastman has taken a dump in it.
Here is Alan's Witch Hunter warband. He says he is a Thaumaturge    but I think he is an illusionist specialising in transpose.
I picked up the first treasure, it wasn't the daemon, but a bear did wander into the battlefield attracted by all the noise. Alan Transposed the bear and one of the beastmen. He then lobbed a grenade from a scroll into the mess to damage anyone and everyone he could.
We had almost made it to the well, when Magaera fumbled a leap on Vandred and sent him back to the edge of the table and inflicted damage on him due to the bumpy landing. Oops!
There was an ice spider lurking in the ruined house which would have attacked Vandred but one of men at arms performed superbly and protected the wizard and killed the spider slicing it apart in mid leap.
The Beastmen are closing in on the fountain and George's Skaven are engaging them, with spells and missiles while the fighters prepared for the final assault.
Alan put down a wall of fog to prevent casual violence. The treasure near the fountain is now the last one so its automatically the daemon.
My fire support unit provided some support by killing off some beastmen.
We unlock the daemon, my knight managed to lose the first exchange even with a fight on +11.
The last few beastmen fall before the combined assault of Alan and Georges warriors, while my archers look for targets.
George now slurps from the well, so when I drink from it there will be a hint of rat.
The Infantryman lands a killing blow on the daemon with his magic axe.
Vandred makes it to the fountain and drinks. George has picked up his treasures and drunk from the fountain so he is now just looking for opportunities to cast more spells. I have picked up the treasure after killing the daemon. I made what turned out to be a critical error in moving to the left rather than down the table.
Magaera cast a critical fog, so put down a big wall.
Alan then embarked on a plan so cunning it could be a professor of cunning at Oxford.
His wizard dispelled my fog. Then, his apprentice transposed my warrior with the treasure with his javalineer. Curses. it's almost like he doesn't want me to get 250 gold.
Vandred moved around the pillar and elemental bolted the vampire hunter down to 2 health. However, he then got struck down by a Warp Lightning from the Skaven Seer,
Magaera did a great job leading the warband but could not defeat a wizard and his apprentice. My Axe armed infantryman killed Alan's crossbowman and incapacitated his javelin man. Looking at this picture, it might have been possible to leap a warrior into contact with one of Alan's holding the treasure or his wizard and thus give him something to think about.
Alan's warband ran cluthing the daemon vessel chased by the chaos warriors blessed by the powers of chaos.

Fortunately, both my Infatryman and wizard recovered, and I got a grimoire. I also got buckets of experience from killing the daemon
