 Richard, Geoff and I teamed up to beat up some more cultists.


This is Geoff's crew of Khornate loonies. There are three soldiers with hand weapon and shield and one foresaken with Kreigsplitter. His models get the ability to move 6" when they kill an enemy model. This comes in very handy quite a lot of the time.
Here are a bunch of the cultists hiding in some rocks. The god we are trying to bring down has the habit of hiding his more valuable followers in terrain.

The other part of the deployment as a horde of Dross deploy right next to our deployment area, Here we are deployed around this house.
Some of the Dross are dying nicely and some of the chaos warriors are arriving. Along with some pesky blood wizards.
A small tactical nuke has gone off, almost all the Dross are gone, and all the other bad guys are down to half health.

The Chaos Warriors get surrounded but are proving annoyingly durable.

Down to the last few chaos warriors while the wizards are trying to unlock the magic boxes. Archaeon is playing with his food leaving the wizard down on one wound.

Here we are down to the last secondary objective, we needed to get two successful fate checks to unlock the box but even with all those warriors none of the dummies could manage to pick the lock before the end of the third turn so we didn't get a glorious victory only an ordinary one.


Here is my team happy to have more XP and loot. Any victory you can walk away from.

Stargrave game 2 - It's a bug hunt

  George and I got in a second game of our Stargrave campaign. We used the dead or alive mission and generated the Brood Mother. I didn't think it made much sense for a group of human mercenaries to work for a creature that kept trying to get them to bathe in marinade. I replaced all the mercenaries with spiders using the creatures from Quadrant 37. We used the Transmat to beam down to the planet Spiridon This is a very hostile jungle planet teaming with all sorts of lethal predators. Receiving reports of unidentified aliens hiding in the Plane of Stones we set out through the jungle to find out what was going on.  Here is the Raknos nest, somewhat unexpected. In addition. the nearby volcano is showing signs of an imminent eruption. Here we have the crew deployed. We have a new Engineer, I think I forgot to deploy one of the team. The Adepticon Saga

I am going to Adepticon with the Family at the end of March. I am an Adepticon noob. I managed to get into a couple of the Saga events. The Age of Magic on Thursday and the Age of Vikings on Sunday. For the Age of Magic event I am taking an undead army. I will be using: A Necromancer Warlord 2 points of Hearthguard, 4 points of warriors, 1 monster and 1 point of creatures. Typically I will trade in 2 hearthguard and 4 warriors for some combination of a Black Knight, and extra creature or a catapult. I am having some fun painting some new models to make the list. I got in a game against Thomas over the weekend. This was a real eyeopener. My attacks bounced off Thomas's units who always seemed to have extra defense dice, attack dice or both. My Hearthguard got a big surprised when Tom revealed that his archers could shoot units that were charging them. Hobby update - Frostgrave campaign

For our next Frostgrave campaign we are going to theme it with Warhammer models. The idea is that we are all the forces of chaos and destruction and are going to bring down the kingdoms of men elves and dwarfs as part of our 12-step programme to ascension. Using a warhammer theme also makes it more accessible to people that have not played before. Everyone has some GW fantasy models. I have bought a few Warcry warbands and some underworlds boxes to make warbands. I have made some other models out of a box of undead peasants to round out some of the thieves and thugs that are not usually included in Warcry warbands. After reading a Conan story where he encounters a giant composite ghost. I remember I had this model from the Carnevale Doctors range and am painting it to look like it's a ghost.
