Adepticon - Stargrave

I was using my Dr Who themed warband at Adepticon. These were inspired by the Episode, Day of the Daleks. I have the Dr a Time Walker and the Aristocratic Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, some unit troopers a time traveling resistance fighter and the St Trinians hockey team.

All these models are Crooked Dice.

Here are some shots from an adjacent table. This is an interesting layout with the buildings on one side and the vegetation on the other. I think this is what Real Estate agents call a semi-rural aspect. Although after these battles, property values will be down significantly
This was a 4-player game, and the participants seemed to know what they are doing. They were using the Side Hustle cards as well as trying to complete the mission.
I'm not sure what range of models this team is from, but they look nice.

Here is the Dr and Co. We have laid down a protective forcefield to protect the advance. Alice has run forwards to grab one of the objectives just as fast as her little legs can carry her. The Brigadier is ready to lead the soldiers forward.
Here is one of the other teams. Their leader was a powerful psycher who let out gouts of fire. The rest of the team was a mix of robots and organics.
This was the other team made of what looked like Star Wars rebel models. The leader was the blue headed Twylek. Apparently she was wearing a powered armour bikini. This player had some interesting interpretations of the rules but this didn't cause much of a problem.

The Dr used his sonic screwdriver to unlock a treasure token read for Alice to pick up and run away with. The commando has provided some covering smoke. The Brigadier is directing the fire of Private Walker and the Grenade launcher. Private Fraser climbed to an elevated position to provide fire on the central objective
The other players start making close contact. My collection of smoke markers is getting some good use. There were 4 goons guarding the central objective (now down to two) The Psycher cut loose with their Burning Hands and melted the medic robot to scrap. Counter fire from the opposing team damaged some operatives and sent the rest scurrying for cover.
Alice has made it off the table with one loot while the Dr helps Carina recover the other. The Kringlo agent decided that the teleport pad was compromised so didn't show up. This meant we were a bit light on the endgame objective.
Picking up a Kringlo communicator pad was worth bonus xp so we sent our Bruiser to get it.
We managed to snag one of the communicators while everyone else provides covering fire or is getting out of town with the loot markers.
My smoke goes away at the wrong moment and the Brigadier goes down to a grenade blast. He does make a full recovery and will be back in time for the next episode.

With the location of the Kringlo headquarters determined by an examination of their communication devices, we make our way there to try and foil their nefarious plans.
Our third player didn't come back for the second game so this was a 1v1. This is some nice terrain, I think its 3d printed. The central objective is located in the data column. you have to unlock the terminal and then decrypt the database before you can remove it. However, this is bait so the Kringlo boss can teleport in and deal with the interlopers.
I replaced Alice with Captain Mike Yates a Solider with shotgun. He and Sergeant Benton are accompanying the Doctor to a third loot token.
The Brigadier is leading the advance to the other loot token.
The trap is sprung! While the Twilek crew were trying to get through the encryption the Kringlo boss arrived in their midst. Of Couse UNIT provided assistance with a well meaning barrage of grenades.
The Doctor got to use some of his Venusian Karate on the other team's runner and with assistance from Captain Yates and Sergeant Benton, they made it off the table. Hockey stick raised in a victory salute Carina secures another loot. This was much heavier to carry off that the cassettes of 1970s pop music she recovered in the last game.
My Bruser and the Rebel comms operator get into a fight in the building. This is ended with the Twilek captain casting Dark Energy and blasting my Bruiser to bits. This was when I found out that the other player thought you added your will power to the casting roll and didn't know his powers were subject to armour interference. So, the powers were about 10 points more difficult to cast that the other player believed. However, this didn't make any material difference to the game and did give me 30 xp for a team member incapacitated.

Loads of fun on some immersive terrain. I did like the idea of the linked scenarios, but I think the Kringlo boss and retinue could have been elevated to a villain from Dead or Alive to make them more than a minor annoyance.
