Hobby update - Robin of Shadowdeep.

Image
Call to Arms is coming up at the end of August. I'm going to play Rangers of Shadowdeep. I'm adapting it slightly fit one of my favourite shows Robin of Sherwood.  For my next set of missions, Lady Marion has been captured by Baron De Bellem (a secret devil worshiper) and he plans to sacrifice her for more earthly power.  After encountering Friar Tuck Robin leads his band of merry men to Rescue the fair lady. I have to get across a river to arrive at the DaemonClaw tower and then race up three levels before the final climatic battle on the roof. In the TV show Robin stabs the Baron with a magic arrow and he falls over dead. I'm using my Crooked Dice figures for Robin and the Baron. I have also been painting some Bulkhead doors. I think some of these came with the original Rogue Trader Kill Team box. For this scenario the tower needs to have an outer parapet around the top room. So I added one for to tower I built a few years back for Frostgrave. This is made out of Balsawoo

Kill Team - Nightmare

I got in a game of Kill Team on Staturday I brought my Mandrakes and Hamish played the Nemisis Claw so we got to play a Nightmare scenario right from the box. The Mandrakes are on the left and the Night Lords are on the right  Here we are all lined up, I took Executioner, Rob and Ransack and the Death in Darkness faction tack opp. So plenty of reasons to kill Chaos Marines. The key action from Turn one, my Chooser of the Slain charged the Plasma Gunner, I charged through the terrain and went to hack down the specialist but the dice were not nice I only took him down to 1 wound. This meant I didn't get the two soul tokens.  In a comedy of competence, my warrior charged the Screacher and inflicted one critical hit before getting killed. Then the Screacher charged the second warrior who struck first and inflicted a critical hit killing the Night Lord. This allowed me to get Rob and Ransack. The Night Lord heavy gunner had climbed up on the roof for a better angle, The Mandrake lit him

Kill Team - Genestealers above ground.

I got in against Ben and his Star Striders, The Genestealers had made a lair in some old ruins. The Starstrider crew needed to cross this dangerous area so they could recover a valuable relic. Here are the Genestealers lying in wait for any that enter their territory. I placed once stealer in the open because I knew I could Salk it into cover and threaten the mid board. The Star Strider's motion trackers started going off, but they could not lock down the locations of the Genestealers while they were hiding in the ruins. The Genestealers are scuttling forwards. The Genestealers have flanked around their short side and seized control of the objective point between the Star Striders and their relic One the other side the board the Star Striders are advancing. One of the armsmen got close enough to get an accurate fix on one of the genestealers. This enabled their ship to get the coordinates and a beam strike lanced down out of the heavens. However the lightning reflexes of the Genest
