Age of Sigmar Spearhead - Slaves to Darkness vs Nighthaunts
Brought to you by "I ain't afraid of no ghosts".
Alan's Orks are trying to stomp the ghosts. Here is a Persians vs Egyptians fighting for control of the Sinai peninsula.
I gave the ghosts the first turn. This is normally a good move because it allows the chaos warriors to move up and charge people of the objectives in the first turn. However, I underestimated the speed of the Ghosts and they were able to charge me on their first turn. Accordingly, I spent most of the game fighting in my deployment zone.
Here is the ghost commander and spirit hosts. they both give each other a buff so it's likely you will see them together.
Ouch the Ghost squad put the hurt on some chaos Warriors.
These Ghosts arrive and start wacking the chaos warriors. They do manage to get through some wounds
Obligingly the ghosts on this side roll a double 1 and so don't charge. This allows the chariot to counter charge and kill one
with a clip clop of sharp hooves the Chaos knights arrive. They manage to kill off the boss ghost. I even remembered they have the mark of nurgle so were harder to wound some of the time. Because the Chariot died in my turn I still control that objective because no one is on it.
I used a strategy card to bring back two chaos warriors to take control of the objective in the bottom right. This got me a bonus point because I had a card that gave me an extra point for controlling that objective. The Chaos lord has been blessed by Tzeentch and the warriors are blessed by Slaanesh. The purple warriors then slid down to control the fence for another bonus point.
The knights have been focussing their attacks on the scythe ghosts. If I can kill them I can take control of the objective.
We finally kill off the unit of chain rasps, they can come right back with reinforcements
The other unit of chainrasps charges and hits the chaos lord and chaos warriors. In the last turn the other chaos warriors ran over and helped the chaos lord control the objective. (The chaos warriors have the ability that gives them +3 control score). I'm currently controlling that objective, 7-4.
The Chaos Knights killed off the Scythe ghosts and took back control of the objective and then turned round and killed two spirit hosts. Nagash deserted the spirit hosts at last and they rolled crap defence for once. The remaining spirit host was one that had been brough back as reinforcements.
The MVP unit. They had been fighting chain rasps all game. In the last turn they broke away from combat and ran into the central objective aided by the twist. This netted me a bunch of victory points for taking an objective off the enemy and doing so without fighting. Finally, the mark of Slaanesh was useful for something. So sparkling wine, velvet cushions and all the opium they can take for those warriors.
In the end it was an 18 -17 victory for Team Chaos. Very much a come from behind last turn victory with a 6 point score.
I might need to increase the amount of sacrifices to my dice. They took a while to warm up.
loads of fun though.
