Vandred against the Goblins - campaign game 6.

Vandred led his warband to another ruined human village, or was it the same one as last time? They all looked the same after a while. One squalid pile of smashed burnt out dilapidated buildings after another all showing lives ended before they could learn the beauty of the Chaos Pantheon. We must be going in the right direction there are those cursed witch hunters.

When we get to the village we detect movement. Its Goblins. Great it's a classic genocidal dungeon crawl where we kill them and nick their stuff. Morkar goes - "but we are not in a Dungeon boss?"

"Get out the way you big meat sack, go with Magaera!.

There is a guy that used intelligence as his dump stat.

This is an overview of the battle site, Alan's warband is coming down from the top and I am coming up from the bottom. The goblins start shouting and jeering when they spot us.
Sticking with the plan Vandred cast strengths on the Barbarian and at fight 7 he leaps forward onto the Goblin thug. However the Goblin Thug rolled a crit 20 and the barbarian was incapacitated
Magaera leads a second group towards the other treasure. Morkar posed in the gateway for style points and promptly took a critical hit from a goblin arrow. He, tumbled to the ground in a heap.
My Darkoath drummer boy striking goblins left and right. He was really taking it to those goblin music critics.
Alans witch hunters dogpile onto the goblins and assassinate one of the goblins with what might have been a third crit.
more of Alan's witch hunters including his white wizard are lurking behind a house. no doubt preparing for some wizard shenanigans.
My Archer rolled over and scored a critical hit of his own on the Goblin apothecary, "always take out the healer first" The rest of Vandreds team have moved up and engaged the goblins and my Bard starts bashing the goblins with his enchanted drumstick (sounds like a magic chick leg to me).
Alan blocks any easy access for my team with a wall while his hunters track down the central treasure guarded by the Goblin Boss (with stats of a knight), My new man at arms has run up and started bashing a goblin. How do other wizards cope with no magic weapons for their people or fight buffs. It must be so nerve wracking.
the witch hunters start picking away at the knight with their arrows. The dog is acting as a distraction carnifex to entice the goblin knight into the trap. Several two on one ambushes take down more of the goblins. Even the Javelineer managed his first kill of the campaign.
Turning around for a differentview brought me no better look. The Chaos gods were having a fine sport with us this day. Alan picked up a treasure and an armoued skeleton appeared behind my Knight. Vandred thought it would be amusing to cast bones of the earth on the Skeleton, it was but not in the way he wanted. A fumble on the spell caused the undead hands to surround him and immobilise his legs. When he tried to fight his way out (fight 5 to 0) he flubbed and took 8 damage. In the end Magaera burned a dispel scroll to get him out.
My new, Man at arms has so far failed to succumb to new model syndrome. He has managed to pick up a treasure and it didn't even set off a monster alarm. My buffed Infantryman looped back around the building after Alan kindly pointed out that several of his warband members had nothing to do other than try and fill him with arrows. That's true sportsmanship.
Alan soon had better things to shoot at when an ice toad (bear) wandered over. I managed to stop several arrows but one snuck through and the creature perished. Alan is now engaged with the Goblin boss. All I could do was listen to the battle from the other side of the wall "Mine it is, give the precious back!!"
The goblin boss was the last to fall and with both warband running away from each other we called it there.
Fortunately, all my expensive soldiers survived. I am thinking of changing Morkars name to "the undying" but that seems like tempting fate far too much.

we managed to scrape up 68 gold from all sources. We found a grimoire of Grenade which is from our school.
During the after-game party, Vandred managed to enchant the man-at-arms's mace, Magaera managed a critical on write scroll so I now have a Grenade spell with a 3 inch blast radius.

She also rolled a critical on the Brew potion before the game so we have 2 potions of teleportation. Vandred made something as well. Magaera's magic might have been terrible during the game but she is great back at the base.
