Rusty Dagger, City of Ice

Prologue Arzag, Allendale and Jill are relaxing in the local Rusty Dagger tavern discussing their next opportunity. “If we don’t find a new job soon, we will need to take up a role with one of the caravans leading town.” “Burke is organising the most caravans.” “I’m not sure I want to be a carter for Burke, I don’t trust him.” “Shhhh, here he comes” After some drinks, Burke advises that he has not heard back from one of his caravans. “It might just be that a hawk ate their carrier pigeon, but I’d like you to check it out.” After further drinks, the team agree to go and look for the caravan. Burke provides the details of the planned route and Arzag and his companions set off on the rescue mission. After about a week of travel, the group come to look upon scenes of battle. Rusty Dagger - Den of Rats

This is my second adventure of Rusty Dagger. Arzag and Allendale decided they needed to leave town (in the dead of night), and they end up in the small town of Clemsted. Arzag is woken from sleep by a blood curdling scream. Deciding that this is a capital crime, he grabs his trusty sword and his trademark furry underpants and staggers out in search of the source of the noise and who he has to silence to get some more sleep. Arzag arrives in the marketplace and finds some ruffians harassing some merchants and a woman and a child. Arzag politely asks the ruffians to leave or at least hold it down. The Ruffians decline to acquis to this request and swords are drawn.  The heroes win initiative and the woman and child retreat to safety behind Arzag. "Get behind me if you want to live!". Emboldened by their foes retreat the ruffians advance forward. Arzag tries out his new ability Primal Rage, this gives him rerolls on attack rolls until he takes a wound. Combat is joined. Having d...

Rusty Dagger - Spire of the Golem

I got inspired to play Rusty Dagger after watching some YouTube videos. The ones from DMGashbad are especially good. Rusty Dagger is a Solo fantasy RPG where you are the Hero and you may have companions or assistants to help you. You only need a 10*6 combat board for all encounters and a selection of dice. You could just about play this while sitting on a plane. I made terrain from scraps of polystyrene and selected my hero Arzag the Slayer. A legally distinct body building barbarian. Arzag was the first D&D character I ever created and back before I knew anything he had killed his first Bug Bear. You have no idea you are outclassed when you keep hitting with your sword. Not bad when you are level 1 and just embarking on your career in freelance, commission only genocide. There are two kinds of encounters, Narrative and Combat. Narrative encounters are usually a skill test often against a non-combat skill these either create branches in the storyline or give benefits and penalt...
