Kill Team - Plague marines vs Kroot.

Image
I played my latest league game against Jeremy and his Kroot. Jeremy has decided that he prefers his Kroot over his Hearthkin Salvagers. This was something I am very grateful for, I think the Salvagers are a much harder team to play against. Before I left for Adepticon, I painted some more plague marines to make sure my squads can have all the stuff they can have when playing 40k. Here are the Plague Marines deployed. Jeremy very nicely gave me the table side I wanted. This allowed me to deploy all the marines in a compact mass. I wanted to make the fight all about these objectives. I picked the Crit op (objectives) as my primary. My strategy was to lumber forwards and sit on the objectives. In the highly subtle fancy play I put an ammo crate and a ladder to the roof just outside my deployment zone. Here are the Kroot at the other end of the table. Jeremy had the first activation and began the process of moving up a buncha guys. In response my warrior climbs into the gun nest and shoots...

We were in part of the Frostgrave world that was infested with the curse of the Spider god. This was a 2 scenario mini campaign. Here is my warband after the first game. Much-gather the gold pressed warpstone. Lots of Kill-Slay. Here we are running up a buncha rats. My Rat-ogre is an animal companion-bear. I have cast Strength on it so it's fight 6. The treasures are guarded by some Ice spiders. These are low level followers and spies for the Spider god. A quick distraction looking over at the next table. This was a multi-player game. My advance is led by a couple of plague monks the bears a warra t-hound . My Wizards have bravely assumed the Skaven leadership position at the rear. The are covered by 2 crossbow-rats A gnoll thug briefly disputes control of the treasure chest. The hound is great because its fast moving so can add an extra +2 combat resolution were needed. I had a Kennel in my base so I could have an 11th model. The Rat Ogres doing Ogre things and bullying the more ...

Background Several colony worlds have suffered from an outbreak of sickness. This disease is highly contagious, and planetary governments are trying to implement lockdowns and movement restrictions and curfews to contain the spread of the disease. However, a large number of independent spacer crews have ignored these restrictions and are moving around as normal. Some have even made planet fall on infected planets to rescue high paying passengers. Medical teams have identified that the mineral Pyrethium is a key catalyst in the making of a vaccine. However, this mineral is rare. A search of survey and exploration archives have identified that deposits or Pyrethium were identified on the planet Tranzilor. The planet Tranzilor Tranzilor was the scene of sustained and intense fighting during the last Great War. Many parts of the planets are now burn scarred by weapons of immense destructive power. Worse, widespread use of biogenetic weapons left long lasting scars on the sc...
