Spearhead - Slaves to Darkness part 2

Next up after the Skaven were the Moonclan Goblins. These are a new faction developed for AOS.

The Goblins went first and then the Chaos Warriors and Lord charged them to show them the error of their ways. The Chariot charged into a unit of Goblins. The other Chaos Warriors went into the Trolls.

The forces of chaos got to take the double turn on turn 2. The Knights arrived and the chaos warriors parted to give them a nice charge lane. They promptly rolled a 4 and didn't charge.

This resulted in the trolls engaging the whole of the chaos army. It took forever to kill them. Fortunately, the Chaos lord can do Crit Mortals so managed to kill off half the trolls by himself while holding onto the MoonClan boss with his other hand.

In turn three the moon moved to the other side of the table and the Trolls lost its blessing and got easier to kill

Freed up from Killing the trolls and the goblins the Knights and chariot raced back and tried to kill off the Squigs that had teleported into their rear areas.
The Knights were still not feeling it and failed to kill the squigs who in turn killed the chariot.
Just when you thought it was over, the goblins got to grow out of the ground and come back on an objectives and the Squigs came back with a reinforcement card and stole another objective and then they charged the small chaos warrior unit and took that objective.

So the Goblins successfully made off with all the baggage from the battlefield and secured victory in a typical goblin fashion.

After this minor setback I was up against Pom and his Adrasta led Stormcast.

The Stormcast started off the battle by surging forward. The Chaos Warriors surged back and there was a big scrum in the middle. The Stormcast unit was reduced to 1 wound. The Standard bearer came over to attack the Chaos Lord and was promptly cut to bits by the Critical hits and mortal wounds.

Turn 2 the Chaos Knights arrived and this time thy made their charge, they demolished the second unit of Stormcast that were staunchly defending the objective on the left. The Lord and chaos warriors cleaned up the rest of the Stormcast.
Turn 3 and The Chaos warriors were going first. Adrasta and friends were due to arrive, and the forces spread out to make it as difficult to get a the chaos lord as possible.
The Chaos Knights were close enough to respond to an attack on the lord but not close enough to easily get caught up in a combat they didn't want.

Adrasta and co arrived and got stuck in. The Chaos Lord died to Adrasta. In the following turn the Knights charged Adrasta and killed her right away even using the ability to ignore rend won't save you if you roll 5 1-2s for you saves.

The rest of the chaos army ground down the Annihilators and the Stormcast were tabled for the second time in the game.

With two wins and a high scoring loss I ended up coming second with only about 4 points separating 2nd to 5th.

Lots of fun. The Chaos Warriors are a Solid army and hit like a ton of bricks.
