Stargrave - Inquisition Season 2 - Steal the secret plans.

Inquisitor Rathbourne took his crew to the aptly named Imperial colony of Ghastly.

The population lives in scattered settlements around the polar regions. The equatorial temperature is over100 degrees centigrade.
Ghastly is one of two inhabited moons orbiting the gas giant Sata. Aligned with its name it's the less pleasant of the two.

In order to investigate and stamp out Heretics and those that would bring about the end of mankind you needed to know people that could uncover useful information.

One of those informants had sent out an intriguing message and then went silent. The information about what had happened to them could be found in a mining camp.

Here is the layout of the base. There are enough people moving about that, individuals won't draw attention, however groups will draw unwanted attention.
Before the game the inquisitor was unable to cast bribe (again).
If more than two models are within 6 inches of each other the alarm will sound. it will also sound at the start of turn three or if I blow the door. So, I need to assemble two pairs of two models that are best at entering and clearing rooms. I realise that Rybeck 002 would be good for this but I had positioned him to provide covering fire. So I had to spend a couple of turns repositioning him as close to the door as possible.
Inquisitor Rathbourne inspired As Sin my Striker and then ignites his voidblade.
My new Interrogator Tiberius Winchester the Third creates Bob our drone and then heals himself.
At the start of turn three, the alarm goes off. Magor Rumzen moves over and blows the door. Then the inquisitor move into the room. This turns out to be the one with the computer console.
Inquisitor Rathborne moves in and smites one of the heretic troopers for 7 damage. Ah Sin moves in and engages one of the cultist troopers.
At the other door, Tiberius uses Data Knock on the door from Bob. Then Williams and Rybeck enter the room. Willimans cucks in a grenade and it fails to harm any of the ruffians (next time remove the pin)
Rybeck blasts one ruffian with his heavy bolter but the other rolls out of the line of fire.
Ah Sin draws first blood on the heretic he is fighting and Rathbourne kills the one he charged before he can clear his weapon.
Rumzen gets hit for 9 by the cultists outside the north door.
My Sniper comes under surprising accurate pistol fire from the cultists. Forced to duck for cover, his return fire injures one of the cultists.
The Inquisitor charges and kills a second trooper,
Having drawn first blood, Ah Sin finishes off his opponent.
Rumzen rushes into the room to get out of the line of fire.
Tiberius unlocks the treasure via Bob. However he is under a lot of strain and is now down at 4 health.
Williams picks up a loot counter and chucks a smoke grenade to cover the south door.
The cultist shoots the sniper and takes him down to 1 wound. (eek, he's an expensive model and a new recruit so was of course doomed.)
In the corner, a cultist attacks my new Dr Houlihan and my Runner Beca. Dr Houlihan demonstrated her close combat skill and wounded the cultist with her knife. Beca then killed it. The two ladies seemed to be engaged in a competition as to who could do the most damage.
Here are the cultists moving up and engaging in a firefight with Sugden.
Under the smoke cloud, Bob and Rybeck combine to lay the smack down on a cultist, Ah Sin has engaged another Cultist.
Beca moved down to help Sugden, She is a free model and its worth 30 xp if she is reduced to 0 Health. The Inquisition have a well deserved reputation for ruthlessness. Sugden would cost me 50 gold to replace if he dies so it's all down to economics.
Some more cultists are arriving, now its time to determine which is the best way out of here.
The Central building is now clear of cultists.
Inquisitor Rathbourne unlocks the data from the Console. Rumzen moves over and unlocks the other physical loot.
Ah Sin kills another cultist he is having fun.
Rybeck and Bob combine to finish off their cultist.
Tiberius heals the sniper who then shoots the cultist finishing him off. Its nice when your 100 point model manages to kill a free model.
Dr Houlihan moves down to help out the sniper. I'm not sure whether this will be with her combat skills or her medikit.
Beca charges one of the cultists fighting Sugden and kills it with a knife to the face.
There is quite a bit of combat with the cultists and Sugden gets charged by a couple of cultists and he stabs two of them with his bayonet and uses this to push himself out of combat.
Beca runs out of luck and gets taken down with a cultist knife.
Rumzen unlocks the loot and moves to the exit we have chosen. This means climbing the ladders and moving over the walkways but at least we will have cover from the side panels. There was some debate within the team about which was the better side to try and leave from. But there were more cultists around the north door so that way was less attractive.
Houlihan has joined the Sniper, ready to render assistance.
The team are extracting via the raised causeway. Williams is complaining about how heavy the loot is and how knowing the Smash and Grab power would have been really useful right now.

Some more cultist troopers are arriving. The inquisitor tried to smite one with his psychic powers but this trooper was protected by the Dark Gods and the soldier was unharmed. Dr Houlihan leaves the table.
I don't want to know the details of the Dark pack this trooper had made but he rolled 3 critical doges in a row.
Rybeck's machinegun is taking chunks out of the trooper but he is still standing. Everyone else contributes to the noise levels but achieves nothing.
The team have made it to the catwalk and now just need to defeat the last couple of troopers. Inquisitor Rathbourne smote the trooper with holy fire and reduced him to ash. The Dark Gods are ever fickle and unreliable. Rybeck blasts a trooper. To help Sugden escape.
Here is Sugden runnign for his life. Rybeck has blasted one of the cultists and now Sugden bags another. So now the way is clear.
Bob is doing a fantastic job engaging all the cultists. He lasted two turns and even managed to zap one of the cultists. Way to go Bob!. Thats serving the Inquisition.
Sugden had a long run to extract himself from the table. He had the support of the rest of the team and the inquisitor was selecting him to activate in the captain phase So he managed to out-run the cultists that Bob was distracting. I can imagine the rest of the team yelling encouragement from the catwalk. The motivation provided by the rest of the team inspired Sugden and he managed to bag a couple of cultists on the way out. I can hear the "Benny Hill Theme" music in my head when I am looking at this scene.

The team ended up extracting successfully and everybody recovered any injuries. We discover that our informant has been put on a long speeder grav train and is being transported to the Star Port. If we are going to rescue the informant we need to be quick that train will cross really inhospitable terrain and trying to board it in temperatures over 100 degrees. Even breathing the air will burn your lungs out there on the lava flats.
