So, here we are packed into a grav sled speeding alongside this maglev train. We need to board the train, make our way to the carriage containing Chella Rand and rescue her. The train will likely have loads of cultists in need of a good purging. We need to leave no witnesses of who did this. Everyone has an emergency grav chute in case they fall off the train.
Turn 1
We need to suppress the defence drones that are guarding the train and the board.
Pierce the sniper misses a drone
Rybeck kills a drone
Inquisitor Rathbourne inspires himself.
Rybeck and Rathbourne board the train
Rumzen and Williams leap aboard the lead car, Rumzen unlocks the hatch. It turns out this car is occupied by four cultists who are smoking Obscura. Williams then chucks in a grenade. This kills two of them.
The two surviving cultists, fire back at Williams but he ducks behind the hatch and they miss.
Bekka the Runner and Sugden combine to take down another drone.
Tiberius releases Bob so he can provide some remote treasure unlocking support or healing.
We board the train. Inquisitor Rathbourne leads Ah Sin and Rybeck into the second carriage. The second car contains a prison cage so we have found Chella Rand
Rybeck misses the mutant (How you miss something that large at a range of 3 meters is beyond me). Rybeck then charges into combat with the enhanced mutant. Ah Sin joins him and stabs for 5. The Inquisitor sees an opening and his sword deals 11 damage. The first mutant is down to 2 health. But it doesn't feel pain so it doesn't care.
There is quite a battle going on atop the first car. Williams drops in another grenade (if in doubt, grenade them out) this kills another cultist. Rumzen then fires into the car and badly wounds the last cultist.
Bekka chips some paint off a drone then drops into the car.
The drones are now getting their targetting routines online, one hits the sniper for 9 and another hits Tiberius for 11. Houlihan dashes over and slaps a stim into him so he can ignore being wounded.
Bob kills a drone and drops into the car.
The big mutant attacks Rybeck who parries and pushes it back. Sugden then misses the follow up shot.
More drones are arriving from the back of the train.
Rybeck blasts the first Mutant, Inquisitor casts Void blade and moves into contact with the second mutant. Ahsin then charges in and his blades cause 15 damage (he won 23 to 22 so thanks to the Inquisitor for an assist).
Just to prove that nothing is more dangerous than the last wounded and outnumbered cultist. Williams charges in and gets hit for 4 damage.
The Drones shooting at the crew on the speeder all miss
The Cultist then stabs Williams for 5, Bekka tries to attack and gets hit for 10 damage. Bob activates his concealed buzz saw and slices into the cultist finally dropping it.
Engineer Rumzen unlocks the loot box and wonders what all the noise is about.
The Mutant attacks Ah Sin, who parries and strikes back for 12 damage killing the hulking mutant.
Dr Houlihan kills a drone, Sugden hits one for 6 just in time for another drone to arrive
Engineer Rumzen unlocks the cage and free's Chella. In a moment of extreme franchise crossing Dialog "come with me if you want to live" issues from his voice box.
The next car has three cult troopers but no treasure.
Ah Sin charges in and kills the first trooper. Inquisitor Rathbourne blasts the second trooper for 8 and then moves into combat.
Sugden kills a drone and Piece damages another one. All the drones miss but one shot was a critical hit and takes down Sugden.
Williams and Bob move to engage the drone on the roof. Unfortunatley this one is buzzing with daemonic engergy and zaps Bob and then electrocutes Williams who falls off the train car. Fotunately his emergency grav chute works and he lands safely.
The troopers try and rush the inquisitor, but he kills the first one and inflicts another flesh wound on the second.
The Inquisitor kills the last trooper and charges into the last car.
Rybeck misses a drone, but Pierce manages to kill one.
The Drones are becoming a serious menace. Houlihan takes a laser wound through her vest.
Tiberius starts letting the grav-sled, slide back down the train to facilitate picking up the rest of the team.
Bob gets taken out by a drone
Ah Sin charges into the room and kills the first trooper.
The Inquisitor wounds the last trooper and then Rumzen demolishes him.
Pierce bags another drone.
Rumzen unlocks the last loot and climbs aboard the Grav-Sled.
The Inquisitor smites a drone and then jumps aboard.
Ah Sin, climbs aboard.
Tiberius brakes the Grav-Sled and the train disappears into the distance.
Just in time, more drones are swarming down for the front of the train.
Both Sugden and Williams survive the encounter.
Unfortunately Chella tells me, she only has half the information and we need to rescue her partner to get the location we need.
