Frostgrave - hunting for Necromancers
Solomon Kane and his band are back. Hot on the trail of a suspected Necromancer. This scenario is inspired by missions 2 and 3 from the Lichlord campaign and combines the wagon with the Necromancer in the river.
Here is the suspect necromancer. Not to obviously corrupted by the dark force. He is travelling local villages and offering them help with the disposal of their dead. He has collected considerable wealth from his services along with possibly some components for creating the undead.Quickly turns into "Open Fire!" Solomon starts proceeding by casting a fireball at the wagon he has to cut for 5 to make it go off so I hope it's worth it.
Amos the templar and the flagellant infantrymen move up while the Vampire hunter looks on at the carnage. the fireball also cooked the poor horse being used to pull the wagon. It was lucky we didn't set fire to the nearby houses.
Heinrich the apprentice also casts a fireball and immolates the last two mercenaries. I'm worried now that all the good luck has been used up. He also had to cut for 5 health. So its fortunate we can take a bit of a breather.
Parker the thief has made it to the treasure hiding in the woods. Everyone else is running forward with their standard issue looting sacks ready.
Solomon is taking cover behind the wall and trying to cast heal on himself.
Here are Aemos and the two flagellants moving forwards to the cart. Parker picked up the treasure, and this summoned a wolf on the edge to his right."Help milady! Bleeding heck, it's a wolf!"
Heinrich is also trying to cast heal and is moving forwards. Penelope and Bernard have made it to the wagon.Parker races back to near Solomon and makes it out of line of sight of the wolf which now heads towards Aemos.
After a successful does of the healing spells, Solomon moves up and casts control animal on the wolf. He gets a 14 and spends 4 health to move up to an 18 casting value. The wolf calmly rolls a 19 and resists.
The vampire hunter moves up and promptly rolls a 1 to shoot the wolf with her crossbow. It must be that she is coming off her base that is putting her off. After the battle this was fixed with a dab of superglue.
The Wolf attacks Aemos and gets hit for 5 of its 6 wounds by his 2 handed axe. Aemos then struck back rolled a 1 and got ripped badly by the Wolfs fangs and took 6 damage.One of the flagellants moved over to assist. The holy bell of Sigmar put the rabid beast out of its misery.
"I see's you could use a bit of 'elp there Mr Aemos."
Penelope picked up a treasure from the cart and this attracted 2 skeletons, who emerged between the two buildings.

Penelope then legged it right quick back towards Heinrich.
The two treasure hunters move up to support each other if the skeletons attack.
To make things much more exciting a large pack of ghouls comes racing towards the witch hunters from the street to the right.
Solomon decides that the hunting of witches has been completed and its time to get while the getting is good.
"Witch Hunters, we are leaving!"
Cuing the Benny Hill chase music, the ghouls chase after the band of brave adventurers. Bernard the thug is the last to leave and is carrying a treasure. Heinrich has cast a wall to block off the skeletons, and they wander around behind a house and take no further part in the encounter.
Solomon lobs another fireball into the midst of the ghouls. This kills 2 and damages another. Everyone has now run back and is off or near the edge of the table.
Unable to catch any of the witch hunters the ghouls head over to the, all you can eat buffet in the graveyard. There is probably a nice side order of extra crispy mercenary.

Everyone made it back from the mission successfully and no one was incapacitated.
We ended up with 280 experience. I didn't get a grimoire so I could not have gone up a third level even if I had earned another 20XP
We got an Orb of power (6), A Wraith Bottle (this does what it sounds like, you chuck the bottle at someone, and a Wraith pops out). We also 360 gold so we are replacing Bernard the Thug with Ernesto the Estallian Swordsman. This leaves me 235 towards my next base upgrade.
Solomon went up to level 5, increased his health and reduced the casting value of fireball by 1.
